Costs and Insurance

I accept most insurances, however I do not accept Standard Mass Health. Before coming to your first appointment, you will need to contact your health insurance and ask them 3 questions:

  1. What are my mental health benefits?
Most insurances will give about 24 visits with the same co-pay you pay when you see your medical doctor. A co-pay is not the same as a deductible. If your plan has a deductible, your insurance company expects you to pay in full for counseling sessions until your deductible is met. Please be advised and aware of your plan benefits before coming in. I do accept FSA and HSA cards.

  2. Do I need a referral or an authorization?
If you need an authorization, one will be given to you over the phone by your insurance company. You will need to write it down and bring it with you to the first appointment.

  3. How many sessions have I used this year and when do they renew?
If you have seen any other clinicians or a psychiatrist, you may have less sessions available to use. Some insurance contracts renew July 1st while most renew January 1st, which is when you would get 24 more sessions for that year. Please bring your insurance card and a cash copay to your first visit.
